Princess Emmeline

Princess Emmeline is the daughter of Prince Richard and Duchess Louisa. She grew up alongside Prince Henry and Princess Katherine who became her closest confidants in their years growing up together in the Palace walls. Emmeline considered Henry her older brother, a knight and shining armour who almost always had a bored expression on his face, while Katherine was the proper and older sister she loved to hate, but loved entirely. Emmeline was always unsure growing up, she never knew which way to fit in inside the Palace walls. Does she act proper? Or does she follow her heart’s desires? 

 

Her mother tells her stories about how her father used to follow his darkest wants and desires and it often led him into troubles. Emmeline quickly grew to understand that she would wound up following those footsteps all the same. In comparison to Katherine, Emmeline was a dismantled model of what royalty should look like. She preferred the American greaser look of the fifties and she knew her cousin Katherine would not be caught dead ever wearing what Emmeline hides in her closet. Her mother was concerned but all for the right reasons. Louisa didn’t care if her daughter found a way to express herself in the fashion style she chose, but the lifestyle was what she was entirely against. However, Emmeline kept with her antics alongside her cousin Henry. The two would often sneak out and take King George’s MG A 1600 for a cruise in downtown London, whereby the time it was daylight their faces would be splashed across the newspapers. 

 

Princess Emmeline related more to Henry as she did to Katherine. Henry was just like her, he wanted to be free of the duties and the weight royalty has on their shoulders. However, when Katherine died and Henry was proclaimed King, everything changed between them. Henry was not Henry anymore. He was more Katherine than the boy Emmeline found comfort and held similar interests with. To her, Henry died the moment it was announced that her cousin Katherine left the world.
